Membership to the Cooperative
Only The Human operates as a social enterprise in collaboration with the Perth Improvised Theatre Society (PITS) Cooperative.
Membership to PITS is open to anyone who wants to help grow and support improvisation in Perth. All memberships require endorsement by our Board who will preference applicants that are already demonstrating a contribution to the community through attending events & fundraisers, taking classes, and modelling our core behaviours. Any applicants declined membership endorsement by the Board will receive a full refund.
We recommend you view the Member Info & Resources page before joining the cooperative. It will provide clarification on your rights and responsibilities as a member and links to a various of member-related information & resources. You can also contact our staff if you have any questions.
Our membership offerings are currently undergoing an overhaul. The focus is on providing better value and flexibility to our members and making it easier for members to contribute to the cooperative in a means suitable to their circumstances. We have disabled member applications and renewals while the changes are finalised and implemented. Keep reading to see what that means for you.
PITS Membership in FY 2025-26
Current PITS Members
Current members wanting to renew their membership are not presently able to do so through the existing subscription model.
We’ll continue providing your current membership without disruption, so you don’t need to do anything right now. We’ll let you know when the new membership offerings are available. At that time, members will have the option to:
Immediately subscribe to a new membership offering with all of its benefits. This will reset your 12 month membership cycle and we’ll issue a pro-rata refund on any remaining time on your current membership.
Retain your existing membership subscription under the new membership structure. You’ll gain all the benefits of the new structure that apply considering your existing membership fees. You can then decide whether you’d like to change anything when your current subscription ends.
Prospective PITS Members
While we finalise and implement these changes PITS is not taking new members. We expect that memberships will again be available some time in August. Anyone interested in becoming a PITS member is encouraged to contact our staff with their expression of interest so we can let you know when membership subscriptions are available or to answer any queries you may have.
